Cattaraugus Free Library Board Minutes 4/29/2026
Meeting was called to order by President Edward Erhart at 4:30 pm
In attendance: Ed Erhart, Sue Gilman, Sandy Blood, Allison Girod, Gretchen Walker, Amy Nagel, Cammy Lulas, Tyler Soderlund
A motion was made by Cammy and 2nd by Allison to accept the Secretaries report as written – Carried
A motion was made by Sandy and 2nd by Gretchen to accept the treasures reports as written. Carried
Annual report opened on the 9th of April and closed on the 16th, ours is done
Taxes are done for the year the cost went up to $600.00
A motion was made by Gretchen, 2nd by Allison to accept the director report as written. – Carried
Old Business – For the 100th Anniversary we had 71 attend and we raised $276.00 for programing.
A discussion was held with Tyler and he told us he was hoping to be leaving by the end of June he would keep us informed. Also discussed cash sheet, deposits, bills processing, Nora Roberts grant, and working alone.
New Business – Summer reading program will run for six days starting on 7/14/2026 with activities, with the final day being a magician preforming on the 31th of July followed by making balloon animals for all who attended.
The value line subscription is up. The library will provide $300.00 towards the renewal.
A motion was made by Gretchen, 2nd by Allison to pay $300.00 towards the value line subscription – Carried
We are doing a plant exchange again this year May 18th – 29th.
A motion was made by Gretchen, 2nd by Sue to have purchase some plants for the exchange. – Carried
A discussion was held on the Five-year long-range plan that was submitted to the board one addition was suggested to find out what the community needs and how to provide it. This will be voted on at the next meeting.
The committee for reviewing policies handed out a packet for everyone to read and review to be voted on in May.
Our next meeting is on Thursday May 27th, 2026. Reports are due by the 18th of May.
