Cattaraugus Free Library Board Minutes                                01/22/2025

Meeting was called to order by President Edward Erhart at 4:30 pm

In attendance: Ed Erhart, Sue Gilman, Sandy Blood, Allison Girod, Gretchen Walker, Heather Gogel, Tyler Soderlund   and guests Paula Hall, Don Girod, Daryl Goetze

A motion was made by Allison and 2nd by Heather to accept the Secretaries report as written – Carried

A motion was made by Sandy and 2nd by Allison to accept the treasures reports as corrected. Carried

A motion was made by Heather, 2nd by Gretchen to  purchase a new staff computer– Carried

Sandy is to write a letter to the Cattaraugus County Bank giving the board’s permission for the treasurer Sue to purchase a new $30,000.00 CD in January.

A motion was made by Sandy , 2nd by Gretchen  to purchase a $30,000.00 CD for the Cattaraugus Free Library. – carried

A motion was made by Sue, 2nd by Allison to accept the director report as written. – Carried

Old Business –   A discussion was held on the Sexual Harassment complaint we received from an employee. Decision on  discipline will be given to both parties on Friday January 24th.

Library hours will be changed to make sure we have 2 people working at all times to keep our staff and patrons safe starting Monday the 27th of January we will be closed Mondays and open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 10 to 5 and Saturday 10 to 2 year around.

 A motion was made by Sandy, 2nd by Gretchen to change the library hours as closed on Monday, open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 10-5 and Saturday 10-2 – carried

A motion was made by Gretchen, 2nd by Sue to give the girls a raise of  $.50 cents an hour  – carried

New Business – We are not renewing Center Point

Sandy is to write the letter to the school on the amount for the annual tax levy

The book sale has been weeded  and sold some of them to a book selling program

The employee reviews have been done

Sue made a motion, 2nd  by Allison, to give Ed $1000.00 to by lumber and build book shelves and install them in the upstairs – carried

Sara will be at the school on the 31st of January at the book fair will information on the library

Our next meeting is on February 26, 2025. Reports are due by the 14th of February.
